Instinct Test Wrap-Up
Well, the instinct test went off on Saturday without a hitch. Thank you, Valerie, for coming out and helping us with it! We had several dogs to test. We started out with testing the pup I had, Drift, and he was quite the little talent. I didn't, however, get any photos of it.
Later in the morning, Jack and Gary came by with two dogs. Some of you may recognize Jack from previous events.

He brought Gary (and Zip) with him.

I tested Gary's dog, Zip. What a nice dog he is going to be! Here's Gary giving him a pep talk.
Zip was way more interested in the ducks than whatever dad had to say.

At some point, I also assisted with testing Jack's pup, Tres. (Yea, as in "uno" "dos" "tres" ... only Jack's other dog is not named "Dos" ... her name is "Two" ... don't ask me.) Tres wasn't quite as interested as her brother, Zip, so I ever so smartly jumped right in to see if my Zip and I could get things moving. Yeah, we got things moving alright. I used Zip to move the sheep from behind Tres to make Tres think she was doing it, and then I made my fatal mistake. I turned my back on all of it. Next thing I know, the sheep were pushed up from behind me, took my feet clean out from under me, and down I went, knocking the wind out of me pretty good. To add insult to injury, I landed in the same stuff I slipped on. Oh joy. Luckily I had a change of clothes in my truck. But ... my back now hurt, so Janie had to take over for the rest of the day.

She didn't like me snapping pictures of her.

So I took pictures of her cute barn ...

And her cute ducks...

Crazy duck.

Hey! Weren't we doing instinct tests?

Oh yeah! I don't have the release forms, so I couldn't name names, but this mini aussie was adorable!

Janie brought Lucy in to help. Lucy is a Smooth Collie.

Here's another one of our participants.

And another ...

Sorry to short everyone out on the photos. My back started gettin' real sore and I had to sit down ... just like I've been doing most of today. :-)
Enjoy!
